Watermelon Card

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having a wonderful week!  Here is a super cute watermelon card I made the other night.  I was thinking of my aunt who absolutely loves to decorate her kitchen with watermelons.

The watermelon is from the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut cartridge and I used my cuttlebug to emboss half the card.  Then I taped a ribbon in the middle and stamped "Thinking of You" on the other side.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE comments so let me know what you think!  Also, don't forget to vote on the right side of my blog so I know what my readers are interested in.

Have a fabulous day!  Happy crafting!!

(Just to let you know, my husband and I are going out of town tomorrow again, but this time to Texas to visit the University of Texas in Austin.  Hopefully I'll be able to post something while I'm gone.  If I'm not able to, please come back on Monday and I'll have something super cute posted!)

Turtle Card

Hello Everyone!
I'm back!  We had a great trip to Ohio, but we are super tired (especially my baby girl).  I couldn't wait to get home and back to crafting!  Right after we got the baby down for the night, I went right to work making a card to post for today.

Here is a quick card I threw together last night.  I cut the turtle and the water/waves out on the Cricut using my Stretch Your Imagination cartridge.  Hope you like it!

I'll hopefully be doing either a scrapbook page or another card today (depending on what my daughter lets me do).  Have a fabulous day!  Happy crafting!!

Made from Scraps Cards

Hello Friends!
I feel like I have been running around like a chicken with its head cut off!  It has been one crazy day!  The main reason why it has been so crazy is because my husband and I (with our baby girl of course) are flying out to Ohio tomorrow to visit Ohio State University for grad school.  He got accepted, so we are flying out to see the campus.  We heard the weather is pretty bad there, so pray for us!  We won't be returning to Utah until Sunday evening, so this is my last post until then.

These are just a few cards I made in my spare time.  I made all of them out of my scrap pile!  I was proud of myself.

Also, my hubby created a button for PoP (Patches of Pink) that you can place on your blogs and other sites!

Have a fabulous weekend and I'll see you on Monday!  Happy Crafting!!

Happy Anniversary and Valentine Ideas

First, I wanted to give a Happy Anniversary shout out to my hubby!  We started dating 3 years ago today!  (I know, I'm a dork but I like celebrating our little anniversaries.)  He is feeling a little better, but he's not 100% yet.  Also, I love him so much (just thought I'd throw that in there).  Yesterday on his day off he helped me rearrange our living room to make it more accessible.  It looks great!!  Also, he took down the UGLY and BROKEN blinds that were hanging in the living room and replaced them with new blinds that we can actually open and close!  Now, we can let in the sun and have some natural light!  I love it!  Thanks honey!

Next, I hope everyone had a GREAT Valentines Day!  We did!  A sweet couple from church offered to watch our baby girl so we could go out on Saturday!  We had recently received a gift card for Red Lobster and since that is one of our favorite restaurants, we decided to go there.  It was wonderful being able to be together and just talk with my hubby!

Finally, I know this is a little late, but I wanted to post a couple Valentines Day crafty ideas I did this year.

These are just some goodie bags I got together for a few ladies in my church.  They were super easy to put together.  The bag is just a regular sandwich baggie with some cute cardstock folded over it and stapled.  Then I just decorated it with a Valentines theme and that's it.  (The purple dog is my daughters favorite toy.  Its a Leap Frog talking and singing dog.  I thought it was a perfect holder for a picture!)

This is a coupon book I made for my hubby for Valentines Day.  All I did was I cut out the cardstock design with my Cricut and then made the actual coupon wording in Word on the computer and printed it out.  I then wrote on the coupons whatever I wanted to give my hubby (a massage, favorite dinner, etc.  Just get creative!)  I then glued everything together, decorated the front, and attached them with ribbon in the corner.  The pink hearts you see on the second picture signifies how many times he can use it and when he uses one, I'll either color in the heart or make a smilie face on it or something.  Make sure you put expiration dates on them though.  :)

I hope you are enjoying my new blog!  Have a fabulous day!  Happy crafting!!

Welcome! Welcome!

I would personally like to welcome you to my new and improved blog.  I was personally getting a little bored with my last blog name and layout, so with a TON of help from my hubby we created "Patches of Pink!"  We get the name partly from our dog, Patches and the fact that I like the color pink.  I'm not obsessed with it, I just like little "patches" here and there of it.  I really like my new name and layout and I hope you do too!

Things are a little quieter nowadays (except for my sick hubby. I wish he felt better.), so hopefully I can get back into the groove of posting more crafty things on here.  Thanks for your patience and I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentines Day!

Teething

Hello friends!  I know I haven't posted anything in a while.  Things have been pretty crazy around the house.  My baby girl is cutting her first teeth!  Yay for her!!!  However, this means she doesn't sleep well at night.  Therefore, because she is not sleeping well at night, mommy doesn't sleep well!  So, instead of doing crafts while she naps, I have been napping too.  I do, however, have a few cute things to post within the next few days.  So try to be patient!  :)  I hope you all are having a fabulous week!

(Sorry I don't have a picture, but it looks like regular banana bread except with walnuts and chocolate chips.)

Displaying Shells

My husband and I went to Florida for Christmas a year ago and we brought home some sand and sea shells.  While cleaning our bedroom last weekend, we found our sand and shells and wondered how we could display them.  We went to Michaels and found three clear plastic containers with lids.
I hot glued some shells to the lid, put some sand in the bottom, and placed the remaining shells in the sand.  I think it turned out pretty cute!  Now, when my husband and I look at it, we can remember that Christmas in Florida.
