Thanksgiving Pics

I hope everyone is staying warm on this cold Thursday!  Our home was built "cheaply", so its not insulated very well.  I dread getting our electric bill this month.  Because we have a little one who always seems to have a cold (oh and by the way, she has an ear infection...again), we keep it warmer than we normally would.  I would love to know your suggestions on how you keep your home warm.

I know Thanksgiving was a week ago, but I wanted to post a few pics we took that day.  I hope you enjoy them!

A lot of food for just two people.

"I'm ready.  Where's my food?"

Our enormous turkey pile.

I'll post the recipe for this sweet potato casserole tomorrow.

I truly hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed their leftovers.  I know I did.

  1. Its too bad we don't live in the same area or we could do Thanksgiving together! What I do to keep Cameron warm (and Tyler although he doesn't mind the cold as much)is keep him in lots of layers and then we can have the house a little colder. For instance I dress him in a onesie, then a shirt, and then if it is still cold a jacket over that and I always make sure he has socks on his feet. It helps a little bit. :)

  2. Same as Mindy to keep warm. Dress kids in layers and always socks. I found we can turn the air down a little at night because we all keep warm in our blankets and the girls are in footsie pjs. Depending on where you want the heat, try closing or opening the air vents in certain rooms. Get insulated curtains. I also heard there is plastic stuff you can put on the windows to keep out the cold. We keep doors shut in rooms we are not using. And I heard a lot of people suggest hanging a heavy curtain or blanket at the foot of the stairs so as to keep the warm air downstairs during the day. Anyways, good luck.
