Monday Menu and Mommy Help!!

Well, after a week of being ill, I'm finally feeling back to normal again.  It's really hard being a sick mommy, but again I'm so grateful for all the wonderful ladies who made us dinner and watched my daughter while I rested.  And since I'm up and moving again, I get to make my family dinner, so here is our weekly menu.

Monday: Chicken fajitas
Tuesday: Lasagna, garlic bread, and salad
Wednesday: Sloppy Joe's, french fries, and salad
Thursday: Chicken fettuccine alfredo
Friday: BLT's
Saturday: Pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn, and salad
Sunday: Pizza and salad

~Weekly Goals~
Make up on cleaning lost last week, stock up on craft supplies, scrap, and get my daughter to sleep through the night.

My daughter has been waking up 3 to 4 times a night for the past 4 nights.  I rock her and lay her back down but 30 minutes to an hour later, she's up again.  We give her a bottle on the last try and that puts her back to sleep.  She was completely weened a couple weeks ago, but then she started doing this.  We don't want to give her a bottle, but its the only thing that will calm her down.  Does anyone have any suggestions????

  1. Jalisa,
it is definitely one of the hardest things being sick with kids, because you can't just stop being a mom! Kids still need things and you still have to try to run the house while feeling under the weather, no fun! I am glad you had friends there to help out though! As to Autumn waking up during the night again that is pretty crummy too, and something we have dealt with A LOT with Tyler. It is very tempting to give them a bottle or sippy cup of milk (and we did that with Tyler when we were at our wit's end) but that can really damage their teeth if they fall asleep sucking on it and she will probably get attached to it and not want to go back to sleep any other way. We found that if we just stood by Tyler's bed and then slowly backed towards the door that seemed to work sometimes. Once he was in a toddler bed we would even lay down next to him for a couple of minutes just to comfort him and then leave. It can be a long slow process but I never found much else that worked unless you want to let her cry it out which is never fun and hard to do when they are this old. Anyways, I don't know if that helps at all but I will be praying for you guys! We need to catch up soon! Love ya!

  2. I have been through this with 2 of my children. The best advice, is to NOT give in, it is a struggle, but if they know you will give in, and what to do to get you to give in, they will do it! Children are alot smarter than we parents give them credit. So be strong, and stay with it, trust me, it will pay off in the end, and what ever you do, do NOT put them in bed with you! Alittle advice from another mom of 2.
