Vinyl Clock

Here is a super cute home decor creation that I'm pretty proud of.

So for the past year I have had this vinyl clock kit collecting dust in the corner of my old apartment saving it for when we moved to our grad school home.  However, I wanted to always be able to take it with me wherever I moved to.  I asked a good friend from Provo, who is great with carpentry, to cut me out a wooden circle.  I was SO thrilled when I saw it because it was exactly what I had wanted.

So after about a week of being in Penn, I decided to paint it.  However, the color I had in my head didn't really exist so I had to put my creative skills to the test.  I painted it the color we bought, but that turned out to be too bright.  Then I painted over that bright green with a vanilla color, but that turned out to be too light.  So finally I did some mixing of the two colors and after some trial and error, I came up with this great color that I am completely happy with.  I also have to thank my wonderful husband for attaching the vinyl for me.  He does all my vinyl for me because I'm always afraid I'll mess it up.  He does it so much better than I would!  Thanks honey!!!

Now the only negative part is that the actually clock hour and minute hands don't work.  For some reason it worked for about a day and then it just stopped.  Every now and then it will work, but then stop at the exact same time as before.  Strange, huh?!  Oh, well.  I'm sure we can find a replacement for that.  I'm just happy that I got it done.  And I would love to know what you think of it!!!!

Decorating With Portraits

Hello Everyone!!!

Well its been a crazy week here in the ol' homestead.  We got home on Monday from visiting family and it feels like we have had something to do or gone somewhere every day this week.  Today was the only day we haven't gone anywhere and it was quite nice.  I did a little cleaning, and a little reading (I just finish The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner and it was quite good.), hung out with the hubby, and played with my energetic 13 month old (WOW!  Is she that old already?!).  We are starting to feed her "big people" food and its not going over so well.  She has the teeth to chew but its like she just won't.  She'll take a couple bites of something and then refuses to eat anymore.  Right now it feels like she's going to be eating peraide baby food for the rest of her life, even though I know she won't, but its just hard.  So I would greatly appreciate suggestions if you have any.

So now that our new home is pretty much put together, I thought I would post a picture collage we did on our living room wall.  We got the idea from Kristen Duke's Photography blog.  We thought it looked really classy and wanted to do it in our new place.  What do you think?  It really makes a statement when you first walk into our house.

Have a terrific day!  Happy Crafting!!

Visiting Home & Family Pictures

Hello my beloved readers!

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm going out of town again for a week, so I may or may not have access to the internet. That means that I may not be able to post anything. Sorry!! I will miss you though!

To help you not feel so lost without me... :-) Here are some family pictures that we had taken of us before we moved to Pennsylvania...

They were taken by one of our favorite photographers who is currently in the Provo, Utah area: Madelyn Wayment from madelynwphoto.com.
