Punk Monkey Card

Happy Monday Everyone!!

Well its a cold and gloomy day in Utah.  This morning it was sleeting and snowing...IN MAY!!!  I can't believe this weather.  Where is Spring?!?!  However, since I most likely won't be going anywhere these next two days because of the weather, it gives me even more of an excuse to craft!

A good friend of our family had a birthday yesterday, so I made him a cute monkey card.  Its one of the very few masculine cards I've made, but I'm working at getting better at it.  I think it turned out great!  I made a female version of it that I'll post tomorrow.

Also, my husband is having a free photoshoot giveaway over on his blog.  Just click here to read and enter it.  He takes great pictures!!

I hope the weather is better where you are!  Have a fabulous day and happy crafting!!

Quick Note of Thanks

I just wanted to write a quick note on here to let all  you know how grateful I am for your support!  I have gotten more followers this and last week than I have since I started this blog.  I truly appreciate it and love you all!

Also, here is a link to my husbands photography blog .  He uploaded a few of the bridal pictures he took the other day and they turned out great!  And don't forget to leave him some love!  He is doing his first reception tomorrow evening so wish him luck (even though he won't need it).  He would love your support as well.  He is also currently up for business, so if you are interested, send him an email.

I hope you all are having a fabulous week.  I just got something very special in the mail from a very special someone so I'll have to write a post about it soon.  Lots of love!

Cute As A Button Card

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  It just flew by for me and my family.  The weather has been great so we have spent some time outside at the park.  My hubby took his first bridal pictures of a beautiful girl yesterday (while I assisted).  They turned out great!  I'll have to post a link to his website once he has them up.

Also, yesterday, I went to a baby shower for a girl in my ward.  She is having a baby boy, so of course, I made her a card.  I don't normally make cards for boys or men, but I think this one turned out really cute.

Have a fabulous week!  Happy Crafting

Sensational Stir-Fry

Hello Friends!

Long time, no post!  I have been taking a break since I finished those 50 thank you cards.  I enjoyed making them, but I needed a little break.  However, I'm ready to start creating again! :)

I was cleaning my desktop on my computer and I came across these pictures of a recipe I tried a few weeks ago.

I found the recipe on The Food Network.  Click here to view the video on how to make it.  My husband and I liked it, but for us we thought it needed something...maybe some sort of sweet sauce.  There is a little but of preparation that goes into this meal, so to save on time, to all your preparations (cutting veggies and chicken) the day before.   If you try the recipe, let me know what you think.

1 tablespoon peanut oil
2 to 3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
1 medium onion, diced
2 cups sliced carrots
1 red bell pepper, seeded and sliced into thin strips
2 cups sugar snap peas
1 (15-ounce) can baby corn, drained
2 cups broccoli florets
1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth

Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and ginger and cook 1 minute. Add chicken and cook 3 to 4 minutes, until starting to brown, stirring constantly. Add onions, carrots, and peppers and cook 1 minute. Add snap peas, corn and broccoli and cook 2 minutes. Add soy sauce and cook 2 minutes, until vegetables are crisp-tender.
Dissolve cornstarch in chicken broth in a small bowl and add to wok. Simmer 2 minutes, until sauce thickens. Serve over rice.

I hope everyone is having a great week!  Oh, and one more thing.  There is a family at our church who is in need of your prayers.  They are going through a difficult trial and your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks so much!  Love you all!!!

Update: Thank You Cards

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!

I just wanted to give everyone an update.  I'm still working on those 50 thank you cards, which explains why I haven't posted anything.  I have been working on them while my daughter naps, so I haven't had any extra time.  They should be finished by tomorrow and then I'll get back into the swing of things.  I hope everyone is having a great day!!!

NSD Challenge #7- "Hey Dad"

Make something for a dad.  It doesn't have to be for Father's Day, but try to make it masculine.

My husband made this card (I just cut everything out).  He chose what to put on it, the colors, and where to put it.  He thought to use dinosaurs because he was obsessed with them when he was younger.  He said that his parents took him to see Jurassic Park in the theater about 6 times when he was younger because he kept asking them to.  He thought this would be a very appropriate card for his dad.  I think it turned out really cute!

NSD Challenge #12- "Critter-licious"

Make a scrapbook page, card, or project using an animal or critter.

I absolutely LOVE the Create a Critter cartridge, so this one was super easy and fun!

NSD Challenge #5- "Teacher Appreciation Days"

Create something for Teacher Appreciation Week or for someone we appreciate.

I graduated with my degree in Education last year but sadly do not work in a school; I work in my home as a SAHM.  Therefore, I made this card for someone I appreciate very much.  Hope you like it!

NSD Challenge #4- "I Like You The Least"

Make a scrapbook page, card, or project using your least favorite or least used cartridge.

Since I have been reading a lot lately, I figured I needed a decent bookmark.  What do ya think?!

I used Graphically Speaking Cricut Cartridge to cut the book out.

Happy Crafting!!!

NSD Challenge #2- "Getting Scrappy"

Make a scrapbook page, card, or project using scraps!

Happy Crafting!!!

NSD Challenge #1- Mother's Day Card

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

I have been participating in a few challenges over at My Pink Stamper.  She has had challenges going on all day and I have greatly enjoyed those I have participated in.  Here is the first challenge...Make a mother's day card.  Please leave me a comment to let me know what you think of it.

This card is called an easel card.  I got the idea from Canadian Nickel Scrap'n.  I'll have a few more challenge entries to enter so stay tuned!  I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!  Happy Crafting!!
