Last weekend, my hubby and I were thinking of all the different ways we could use our envelope date. Last weekend's envelope had $10.00 in it and it could be spent however we wanted. After a lot of thinking, my wonderful hubby thought of using it on crafts! Oh, how I love him! So we called around to find someone to sit with our baby girl (because she was already in bed for the night) while we went to Roberts. We got there about 30 minutes before they closed! :) We looked around and I got some supplies for my craft while my husband got supplies for his craft (oh yes, my husband is creative, but still a man!!!). We spent a little more than $10.00, but still got good deals. I love my husband's craft so much that I wanted to post it on my blog.
Paint and brushes
Cardstock/ scrapbook paper
Cut out letters or stickers
(1) Take your wood blocks and paint them whatever color you want.
(2) Cut to fit your cardstock/scrapbook paper to fit the blocks. Use the mod podge to attach to the wood blocks. He also used a corner rounder to round the corners of the paper. You can also mod podge over the paper to give it a glossy look (if you want).
(3) Take your stickers or cut out letters and either stick them on or mod podge the letters on the wood blocks.
(4) Do the same for your remaining blocks to finish out your phrase. As you can see, he added a few things to his wood blocks, the hearts and the stacked wood blocks (which are attached by hot glue).
This is the finished product. Isn't it cute!!! When he finished it, he told me that this was one of my Valentine's Day gifts! He is the sweetest!!!
