Its finally Friday!!! Which means running around trying to get everything ready to leave for Christmas break. My hubby gets almost a whole month off for break, so we are traveling to the mid west and then down south to visit family. I'm super excited to see family! This is my favorite time of the year!
I found this picture tonight and realized I never posted it! Shame on me. So here it is! I cut out the birdie using the Create a Critter cartridge (my favorite). There is a wonderful blog and person who has created stamp sets that go with the Critter cartridge and many others. I put a few of her stamp sets on my Christmas wish list. So I'm crossing my fingers that Santa will bring me at least one. If you would like to visit her blog, just go to www.mypinkstamper.com. She is super creative and full of energy.
Have a fabulous day! Happy crafting!

I hope everyone is staying warm on this cold Thursday! Our home was built "cheaply", so its not insulated very well. I dread getting our electric bill this month. Because we have a little one who always seems to have a cold (oh and by the way, she has an ear infection...again), we keep it warmer than we normally would. I would love to know your suggestions on how you keep your home warm.
I know Thanksgiving was a week ago, but I wanted to post a few pics we took that day. I hope you enjoy them!
A lot of food for just two people.
"I'm ready. Where's my food?"
Our enormous turkey pile.
I'll post the recipe for this sweet potato casserole tomorrow.
I truly hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed their leftovers. I know I did.

I am in the process of switching my site to my new domain, http://www.patchesofpink.com. Isn't that so cool?! I think it is. I don't think there will be any problems with the move, but if there are they should get ironed out very quickly or feel free to contact me at patchesofpink(at)gmail(dot)com. Keep coming back for more!
By the way, if you try to go to patchesofpink.blogspot.com it will just forward to my new address, so no worries!
Is there anything that you would like me to do specifically? I'm always up for hearing what my readers have to say!

Well, I don't know what its like where you are, but its a very windy Wednesday. Its a good day to curl up on the couch with some hot chocolate (don't forget the marshmallows) and either a good book or movie. Today, I prefer a good movie.
Speaking of good things, I though I would post a super good recipe, since I haven't posted one in a long while. Here is a yummy recipe for banana pudding. Enjoy!
2 boxes instant french vanilla or regular vanilla pudding
3 cups milk
1 container cool whip
8 oz cream cheese
1 package gram cracker crumbs
Fold in pudding, milk, cool whip, and cream cheese. Start with a layer of gram cracker crumbs, then pudding mixture, then cut up a banana and lay the slices on top of the pudding. Continue layering this way until you run out of the pudding mixture. Make sure you have enough pudding to have a layer for the top along with a few gram cracker crumbs to finish it off.

I know I'm a little late getting out this weeks menu. I had to take our little one to the doctor today. She has been sick all last week and the doctor said she has an ear infection in both ears. Poor baby! Its no wonder she hasn't been sleeping well. Hopefully, she'll start feeling better soon. So here is this weeks menu...better late than never, right?!
Monday: Fish, fries, and salad
Tuesday: BLT's (didn't get to them last week)
Wednesday: Sweet and sour chicken, rick, green beans
Thursday: Beef stew and biscuits
Friday: Pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn, and salad
Saturday: Fried chicken, red potatoes, green beans, and salad
Get my baby well again, organize pictures online to print, clean the house, and spend time with the family.

Well, I'm feeling much better, but now my daughter is sick. She got a flu shot on Tuesday and has been sick ever since. We just can't seem to stay healthy in this house. I am disinfecting daily, though, so hopefully that helps a little.
A few weeks ago, a friend taught me how to emboss! I had been wanting to learn how for a while. Its so easy and it adds great detail and cuteness to a card. This is how my first embossed card turned out. Its simple, but cute!
Have a fabulous day! Happy crafting!!

Well, after a week of being ill, I'm finally feeling back to normal again. It's really hard being a sick mommy, but again I'm so grateful for all the wonderful ladies who made us dinner and watched my daughter while I rested. And since I'm up and moving again, I get to make my family dinner, so here is our weekly menu.
Monday: Chicken fajitas
Tuesday: Lasagna, garlic bread, and salad
Wednesday: Sloppy Joe's, french fries, and salad
Thursday: Chicken fettuccine alfredo
Saturday: Pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn, and salad
Sunday: Pizza and salad
Make up on cleaning lost last week, stock up on craft supplies, scrap, and get my daughter to sleep through the night.
My daughter has been waking up 3 to 4 times a night for the past 4 nights. I rock her and lay her back down but 30 minutes to an hour later, she's up again. We give her a bottle on the last try and that puts her back to sleep. She was completely weened a couple weeks ago, but then she started doing this. We don't want to give her a bottle, but its the only thing that will calm her down. Does anyone have any suggestions????

~A little sneak peak of just one super cute Halloween pic of my daughter. There's more to come. She's the one with the reaching in for the candy. :)~
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted anything in a few days. I have been sick with the flu since Saturday night. It started small, but just got worse as the days went on. I went to the doctor yesterday and was given a prescription, which I'm glad to say is working great! I'm feeling a little better today than I was yesterday. I'm very grateful to my wonderful friends who have offered to watch my daughter while I rest and bring us dinners. Also to my great family, who maybe far away, but are always thinking and praying for us. My hubby has been great too! He came home from school early (even though he is way behind in his homework) to help out. I truly feel blessed to have so many wonderful people around me! Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be up and running like normal...hopefully.

Hello everyone!! I hope everyone is having a great week! I have been having a great visiting my family in Indiana. I can't believe its been a week already. Time sure has flown!
I hope you all enjoyed my hubby's post the other day. He surprised me by posting for me. He's so sweet!
Here is a Halloween card I made before I left. I used one of the Cricut cartridges that came with my Gypsy (I would check to see which one if I were home). I jazzed it up with a little bling bling to make it look not so scary :)

Sorry I haven't really posted anything this week. I've been trying to nurse my sick baby back to health. That poor thing. She just can't seem to stay well. It seems like she starts improving and then spirals back downward. I did take her to the doctor on Monday and was put on a stronger antibiotic than before. I'm already noticing a HUGE difference, so that's great!
Also, I'm going out of town for a week and a half, but not to fear, I have a few great things planned for you while I'm gone. In the meantime....
